I have the honour to inform you that

Lieutenant-Colonel A. Chapman, V.D., has resigned his appointment as Commandant of the Hongkong Volunteer Corps on the reorganisation of that force, and that I have received an application from him to be permitted the privilege of retaining his rank on retirement, and of wearing the pres-

-cribed uniform of his Corps.

I enclose a statement of Lieutenant-

Colonel Chapman's service together with Certificate from the General Officer Commanding that the service has been good and satisfactory, and I recommend Lieutenant-Colonel Chapman's application for favourable consideration.
